As we start the new year, I would like to tell you a personal story. I contracted Covid soon after the new year. Fortunately, I and the rest of my family had very mild cases, and I attribute this to all being vaccinated. I encourage everyone to get vaccinated and boostered as it has been shown to minimize the severity of the virus. Thank you for all the hard work and dedication that our associates have shown throughout this crisis, and we know it will continue. Remember we are an important part of making the Spring semester a success for TAMU! God Bless and work safe

Maintenance Christmas Lunch and Service Awards
The Maintenance department enjoyed a Christmas lunch stocked full of prizes donated by Willbanks, ACO, H&S, MLN, Grainger, and Encore. Cotton covered the cost of catering to food for the department. LeTisha Pitre and Jeff Daniels coordinated the efforts with the vendors to make this a success. A huge thank you to the vendors, Jeff and LeTisha for taking the initiative to celebrate our department.
Being together again, in person, gave us the opportunity to catch up on service awards. Thank you to Kate Goodman for preparing the service awards and gifts.

Congratulations to our Work & Win Grand Prize Winner
The SSC Corporate home office has held quite a few incentives for our associates over this past year.
“Work and Win” gave away $200,000. of prizes celebrating 7 weeks of smaller prizes including gift cards, coolers, speakers, ipads and TVs.
Week 8 concluded with the Grand Prizes being drawn and we are proud to announce our own custodian Jason Hernandez was the winner of the “Yeti Bundle”

Michael Mahoney Receives a Promotion
Michael Mahoney joined SSC Services for Education at TAMU in July 2019 as our Help Desk Supervisor and recently promoted as Supervisor of the Technology Department. Michael brings with him experience in Systems Administration in both Linux and Windows. Currently holds certifications with CompTIA (Network+) and Microsoft’s Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE). Recently Michael has been pursuing a Cisco Certified Network Associate certification (CCNA) while working at SSC @ TAMU. While he does have approximately ¾ of his BSIT completed, he is determined to enroll back in school to finish out the degree.
Michael’s passion is to help others explore technology and mentor all who are interested in learning how Information Theory through technology improves the lives of everyone, whether they admit it or not.
Michael is a native Texan from San Antonio who currently resides in Brenham, Texas with his wife. He has three amazing children, two of which have been accepted at Texas State University. The youngest has just entered 6th grade and accepted into an MSU robotics clubs for STEM focused children.
